Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Automox to assist with repetitive task such as Updates, Patches, Installs and Uninstalls. One of the benefits I see with Automox is the ability to turn complex policies and simplifying them. In today's IT world, the term efficiency gets tossed around but what are we doing to improve that area of retired repetitive work eating up our valuable time. Another great use is with Automox allows you to stay organize with your assets along with analytics of current status and remediations for assets that require attention.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Windows, OS and Linux updates and third party software updates
Remote install and uninstall of Software
Create single or group Policies for different Operating Systems
Schedule patches and Policies base on Organization and departments

Cons

Create a Mobile app for phones and tablets for accessing the console
Providing real time monitoring service such as usage of CPU, RAM, Storage Space and battery health for laptops
Under activity logs, under Event Type. As of now there are only two Active and Error. I recommend have something that say Up to date if a Windows Update Policies ran and found nothing. This confirms that the policy did run and found everything was up to date

Return on Investment

ROI allows me as an IT professional to not hold employees nor IT professionals hostage to chair. Flexibility of deploying command remote has giving all of us time back to our schedules.
We have gained scalability in a sense that Automox can assist with cloud migration and global changes.
Automox has helped save time by creating remote policies, Deploy any time and where. The light agents doesn't utilize too much of the assets resources.

Patching

The biggest change was that we were not used to remote and creating PowerShell scripts for most repetitive and complex scenarios. Automox has made it so much easier with the help of Otto the self AI generator code creator. If all fails Automox has a great team of Engineers who are trained professionals and ready to tackle an challenge.

Usability

Personally, it took me some time to understand the concept of the Automox Evaluation Code and Remediation Code. This can be overwhelming for new users who are experienced with PowerShell. Taking the time to understand this and how it works did take time. I do recommend taking some time and learn this process.

For automation such as update, patches, installs uninstall and creating policies Automox works fast and efficient.

Automox works great with the challenges of today with on premise and remote assets to stay aware of the demands needed to run Hybrid and Remote workers.

Areas of concentration are lacks Mobile access and Live Monitoring Assets services.

As an IT professional, there are times we work from home or remote locations with minimal access to a computer. Having the ability to work from a tablet or phone gives us IT professionals an advantage to stay versatile and agile when last minute emergencies arise.

Live monitoring analytics of assets are part of an important necessity as this give insight on how and where to start troubleshooting where the issue of an asset maybe the culprit.
