Overall Satisfaction with Automox

We use Automox for our patch management primarily, but it is also extremely useful as an asset management system too.

Through its patch management, we've been able to ensure that all our end points are kept up to date with the latest software. We also have the ability to use Powershell within Automox to push out new softwares and remove old ones.

Pros

  • Patch Management
  • PS Scripting
  • Worklet catalogue

Cons

  • Sometime the end point will stop talking to the main console, this generally required a reinstall on the endpoint.
  • It's had a positive impact as we're able to track patches in real time
  • It gives us full visability of software and hardware on any given endpoint
For us it was a big change as in the past a lot of these processes were done manually. As long as the endpoint is turned on, Automox has allowed us to remotely install and remove any software required on the endpoint. For a business that primarily has a work from home workforce, this kind of software is a must.

What makes Automox great is that you can upload any MSI into it and push that out to endpoints, but they also have their worklet catalogue as well which includes common software and fixes.
It's great at what it does. We're able to veiw endpoints that are online in real time, and run scans on them to ensure they're still compliant. The software itself is very easy to use and set up on end points, with the main admin portal having a clean and very easy to understand set up.
Specifically for patch management, Automox is one of the most user friendly options available. The ability to customize packages and target specific machines makes it a very useful tool. It's definitely a stand out software out of the options available.

It's excellent when it comes to patch management. We have all our patches (per OU) set up to run on different days, and get detailed reports on which patches have failed and for what reason. We've also been able to push out windows 11 via Automox too, which for a business with a lot of users, makes live so much easier.
