Automox...A true game changer for remote patching and support
Overall Satisfaction with Automox
We use Automox for patch remediation and remote support. Unlike most other platforms we can use Automox to patch all of our devices regardless of the OS. Our previous RMM platform was limited in this aspect and Automox not only filled this gap but did so at a lesser price point
Pros
- Patching
- Windows PS scripting
- Monitoring of OS
Cons
- Remote support of iOS could be better
- Remote support of linux is lacking
- ROI is absolutely great. Fantastic pricing
- Better handle on missing patches in the environment
- Allows better remote patching across all platforms
Less stress. Less needing to keep on top of the patching process. While its not "set and forget" I can focus more on other aspects of the environment knowing that if the schedule for Automox is set then it will run. Or if the device is off then it will run the next boot cycle.
I think Automox far exceeds N-able in every category. More intuitive, less expensive, etc. Just a much better platform and more user friendly.

Using Automox
70 - Automox offers remote end point management and patching software. I had the Automox client installed on all of my Win, Apple, and Linux user endpoints, and servers
1 - We only needed 1 in-house engineer to act as our Automox admin. It took roughly 24 hours to set the software and clinet up to match our needs. Once that was done it was pretty much hands off
- endpoint patching
- remote access
- troubleshooting
- remote services on/off
- running PS scripts
- remote software installs
- mobile device managament
- possible SSO integration
Evaluating Automox and Competitors
Yes - N-Able (formerly SolarWinds) RMM. A number of factors were the reasoning behind their replacement but corp reputation was a driver
- Cloud Solutions
- Scalability
- Integration with Other Systems
- Ease of Use
Initially I decided on Automox because of integration with Crowdstrike. By the time I realized that integration was removed I was past the point of return
I would seek out more products that could integrate with Crowdstrike or defender natively
