We use it to manage exemption certificates, file sales tax returns, and for sales tax calculations.
- Maintain sales tax rates and calculation of sales tax on invoices.
- Store exemption certificates.
- Keeping up with ever changing rules on what is taxable/non-taxable.
- Implementation and training, especially training unique to your ERP.
- Customer service response times.
- Communication of changes, updates to the software, etc.
- Better reporting - would like to see customizable reports

There was not much support for us when it comes to specific implementation with our ERP. We were often pointed to Avalara university or online documentation but it didn't always work the same in our ERP.

The returns save a little time, but not as much as expected. I often spend more time with support trying to correct an issue with a state or on a return that it would take to fix if I were just filing the returns myself. CertCapture is a very useful tool once you figure out how it works with your ERP and how to use it.
