I gave a rating of 7 because it can take a bit of time to receive a support response and then receive a proper resolution. I do try to find the answer on my own in the support community but when the answer is not there I have to submit a support ticket. Sometimes it has felt like I am going in circles to try to get the issue resolved. Ultimately it gets resolved but is not always the most timely process.

Partnership

The partnership with BlackLine has been positive. The account manager has been supportive and has helped us stay informed on the product as well as helping ensure we stay up to date with the platform. We are also continuing to assess what areas we can improve by potentially implementing other BlackLine modules

Alternatives Considered

FloQast

We also assessed the FloQast platform. We felt BlackLine offers more functionality which is why we chose the platform. FloQast was limited in what they offered and also did not automate reconciliations greatly as they would still be completed in Excel. BlackLine also has many more modules that can further automate other areas.

Likelihood to Recommend

BlackLine is suited for automating mundane tasks and streamlining processes. For example I used to have to manually tie out Excel balance sheet recs to the TB. It was time consuming but necessary to ensure we were within our controls. Now with BlackLine we don't have to do the tie out as it's all automated with the system. Also if a rec is certified but the balance changes after the system will automatically notify the preparer which prevents us from having a higher risk of unreconciled balances.
