I think both BlackLine and Oracle are amazing software. However, I believe BlackLine's interface is easier to follow than Oracles.

We have enable the Matching tool within the Reconciliation process to help our users to perform their reconciliation more efficiently and time saving. The benefits have helped us to spend more time on strategic planning for growth an expansion. The matching tool has been very helpful for our team and look to encourage other teams from our organization for usage.

I have not used any of the other products, but we did evaluate them during our discovery phase. BlackLine was the "Cadillac" of the product offerings. You could get a similar product, and maybe even at a lower cost, but we wanted the best of the best, and that's what BlackLine is. We wanted a product that we could grow into, rather than a product we would outgrow over time as our organization grows. We have only touched the surface with BlackLine so far, and we've already reaped the benefits.

Blackline was much more intuitive and easy to use.

We did not evaluate other products when implementing BlackLine. The decision was made primarily by our Financial Controller who used BlackLine at a previous company.

FloQast may have a better user interface with a couple better features, but Blackline lined up more with our budget. The more simple user interface could also be a positive for Blackline for some organizations. Asana was only used for task management, but we needed an account reconciliation module too, so the bundle just made perfect sense.

At the time, FloQast did not have the tasks function, which was important to us as we maintained our close process in an excel checklist. We were not able to know timely if all steps were completed.

I haven't used similar products in the past, our reconciliations used to be prepared internally in Excel.

We are currently using AuditBoard over BlackLine Compliance. It is mainly due to Compliance was introduced to us after AuditBoard was already been implimented and used.

I have not used any products similar to Blackline. However, Excel does offer many similar functionalities to Blackline in terms of reconciling accounts. Blackline offers many benefits over simply using Excel. The reconciliations are organized and easy to find, and they roll over each month on their own. They include the ability to auto-certify if they meet the criteria that your team selects. They also include an audit trail of documentation and approval for each step.

BlackLine is a user friendly product vs using the existing ERP for journals. Dashboards, reporting, easy of customization, and administration is owned by Finance vs GIS.

BlackLine has more internal control and matching module stands out.
