Overall Satisfaction with BlackLine

We utilize BlackLine for bank reconciliations with assistance from the Matching product. Matching expedites our reconciliation process substantially by automatically reconciling thousands of transactions in minutes when manual reconciliation used to take weeks.

Pros

  • Building match sets based on consistent data elements.

Cons

  • Allow us to have multiple screens open simultaneously without timing out.
  • When reviewing an individual Match ID#, make it so we can expand text boxes to see the entire text. Currently, we have some comments that are extremely long, and we are unable to read them in their entirety without copying and pasting them into Word.
  • Improved efficiency significantly for bank reconciliations.
Our issues have been few and far between, and have usually been very niche, requiring an extensive review process on both our end and BlackLine's. BlackLine worked with us every step of the way to get them resolved, but because of their nature, they can take longer than a day/week to resolve.
Our partnership with BlackLine has enabled us to transform a previously manual process that took weeks or months to complete into a semi-automated process that now takes no more than 2-3 weeks.

BlackLine is well-suited for us when it comes to the bank reconciliations, as our systems feed right into BlackLine, and the various match sets reconcile the data effortlessly. BlackLine would work to its fullest extent if all departments utilized it, so you can take advantage of all the various products that are available.
