Overall Satisfaction with BlackLine
BlackLine is used for CRM controls. The system allows us to document our analysis, review and approval of all ERP system transactions and reconciliations. Prior to BlackLine we relied on spreadsheets to document these reviews.
Pros
- Documents the review and approval of Reconciliations
- Documents the review and approval of Tasks
- Allows for reporting/tracking of incomplete tasks and reconciliations
Cons
- It would be great if Blackline would auto import GL level details (aside from matching) into reconciliations to expedite the efficiency of our reconciliations. We currently have to utilize spreadsheets and them import these into BlackLine
- Implementation could have been smoother. Suggesting BlackLine university prior to implementation would have made a world of difference for our team.
- BlackLine has improved our documentation processes. This will aid our overall SOX testing cost as less reviews are necessary.
- BlackLine will also make our team more efficient and provide more detailed reconciliations. More people can do more work, which improves almost every aspect of our company.
We are still early in our BlackLine partnership, but it will enable us to revamp our CRM processes and document our control processes. We didn't have these before (aside from a few tracking spreadsheets).
