Overall Satisfaction with BlueJeans

BlueJeans is used across our entire organization. We have many faculty members that use it for bringing guest lecturers into class and we have many administrators using it to hold meetings with employees across the globe. We are a global institution and have campuses across the world and it becomes very important for us to have this type of solution to have the most effective and reliable meetings.
  • The calendar integration with Gmail is key for anyone that uses G Suite. It has helped adoption at a much higher rate.
  • The ease of the mobile platform is also something very important for us.
  • The ability to use the app or the web interface is also something many of our users have commented on.
  • The implementation process was a bit difficult at first, especially with our SSO. Make sure it works with yours completely.
  • We often have multiple people "create an account," but it is a free one through BlueJeans and not our account, then the accounts need to be merged.
  • We have had much more productive meetings. It is used weekly in the IT department for the departmental meeting with remote people from Pennsylvania, Mexico, Maryland and Virginia all connecting. Makes it feel like a face to face meeting.
  • We have had over 3,600 meetings in the 2018 calendar year. This has led to a travel cost savings of over 1.2 million dollars.
  • We host trainings and webinars through BlueJeans and remote attendees have loved the ability to participate and be a part of the group.
BlueJeans had the reliability and reputation and this is why we went with them for our solution in the first place. We had GoToMeeting and still currently have Hangouts but the feel of GTM was that it was always struggling to keep up with quality and Hangouts was limited for our situation.
It is very easy to use for those that have used online meeting platforms before. As with any distance collaboration tool, there is a margin of user error if they are not familiar with the tool or know the proper etiquette for attending an online meeting. Many folks chalk this up to the platform but when investigating what they did, it usually is operator error.
BlueJeans is very good for hosting meetings with a group of people, but when it comes to using it in a classroom, it becomes a bit more difficult. We would need to add an additional piece to make it work for having a classroom style setup. This makes it less appropriate for a traditional higher education standpoint.
