Overall Satisfaction with Canto

Productivity of the marketing department has greatly increased. Canto has allowed company employees easy access to our images. Canto's great search function and organization has allowed us to quickly access the files we need. Our old image management system was the complete opposite of Canto and very difficult to use.
  • The ability to tag files - for example, my company does a lot of application photoshoots for our products. Canto allows you add tags to images, so we are able to tag which products are featured in our photos. Once the tags are added, the photos can easily be searched by a product number
  • Canto makes sharing files very easy. You can create a collection across your library of various files you would like to share, then share them all with a single link. The recipient of the link is not required to log in to access the link.
  • Canto support is always quick to respond to issues as well, if anything ever comes up. I have had to reach out several times and they are usually able to resolve my issues fairly quickly.
  • They have a strict download size limit which can be frustrating for our company that has a lot of large file sizes. For example, if I select 5 large photos, Canto would tell me to wait a few minutes to receive an email link to download my 5 photos. But there is a work around, where I can create a "share link" for those 5 photos, then click on the link myself and download the 5 photos instantly, instead of having to wait for an email.
  • Sometimes there are some display issues depending on whether you are using RBG or CMYK based images. In the Canto thumbnails, your images may appear too vibrant or too dull.
  • The default sorting for albums is by date and not file name. For example, if I got into an album, and tag several photos, the next time I view that album, those several photos will be out of order and shown at the top of the page. You can click "sort by file name" to fix this, and have everything appear in place, but it's an extra step I wish I didn't have to do.
  • We needed a way to quickly and easily share high-resolution files with our partners and customers. Canto has been great for this! Being able to easily share images with our b2b customers has an obvious positive ROI.
Support is usually very quick about getting back to me via email. There has been a few times however where I needed to follow up with them and had trouble getting an answer. After an update a year or so ago, some of our images started to appear with the wrong colors in the Canto thumbnails. It took awhile for their dev team to get back to me regarding the CMYK/RGB color spaces being the culprit.

Do you think Canto delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Canto's feature set?

Yes

Did Canto live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Canto go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Canto again?

Yes

We mostly use Canto for image sharing, so if we were talking about sharing PDFs, videos, etc, I am not sure if I could recommend as I haven't used it in that way. It does seem like they have some neat solutions for storing those those types of files, but I just don't have personal experience with that as of yet.
