Overall Satisfaction with Ceridian Dayforce

Ceridian Dayforce is being used by our payroll department to process all weekly, monthly and semi-monthly payrolls. We use the system for reporting our pay data to all departments/divisions within our company. Basically this is our total payroll application and is used for anything related to our payroll processing.
  • The calc process works very well.
  • It is fairly easy to balance the payrolls.
  • You can process multiple pay groups at one time.
  • Reporting is lacking.
  • Producing our own custom reports is difficult if not impossible.
  • We must hit a set time to be funded.
  • The actual processing time to produce a payroll has been reduced.
  • Employees are able to see their checks on a mobile device.
  • Our custom reports are very expensive to obtain.
I like the fact that Ceridian takes care of all the reporting to tax agencies, the government, etc. I also like that our Verification of Employment is being handled by Ceridian. We are still working on producing some of our carrier interfaces, so i can not speak to those capabilities just yet.
We are not using the HCM solution just yet. However, from the demos of the system I believe it will do all the things described in this question. We have just begun to run the payroll side of Ceridian, so we will see how the processes on this application do for us to determine if we want to continue with HR.
We have run 3 different systems for quite a long time. We initially had payroll on a mainframe system, HR on PeopleSoft and time keeping on Kronos. Of course this creates the need for multiple interfaces to move the data from system to system. I think having all systems on one application will increase timeliness, data integrity and overall just be much easier to manage.
Once you have balanced the payroll, the calculation process is quick and easy. After that Ceridian takes over and does all the tax reporting, funding etc. Once this data is calculated, there is only bare minimum of reporting. If you have custom reports your company is used to having those are extremely difficult and expensive to obtain.
