Overall Satisfaction with Ceridian Dayforce

Dayforce is used organization-wide as our HRIS.
  • Paperless records and workforce management means no one can use the excuse "I submitted that weeks ago," because we can track all forms submitted in the system.
  • Allowing different levels of access to each module instead of the same approval process for everything means faster processing of HR actions.
  • Automating all functions and using reporting functions allows for quicker and more thorough follow up when needed.
  • Support-staff is often not fully trained in various modules. It can also take a long time to get resolutions to what seems like a fairly simple issue.
  • I feel that the capability is there, but our organization is not using Dayforce to its greatest potential.
When departments use the scheduling function, it definitely keeps us in compliance in many areas. Unfortunately, most departments don't use this function due to the last minute nature of our industry.
This was our goal - a fully integrated solution for all things HR and payroll. To that end, Dayforce has delivered. It's nice having timesheets and HR records all in one location.
Kronos, ADP, Vibe HCM.
Great for larger organizations due to the price, or organizations with a one person HR team where this software can take the place of an additional HR staffer.

Using Ceridian Dayforce

750 - Administrators, Department Leaders, end-users
6 - We have five HR team members and one Payroll Manager who are all administrators or super users who can answer most questions our EMployees have.
  • tracking Employee records
  • updating Employee information
  • helping our Leaders make the most of their human capital
  • digital records have cut down on our paper usage in a massive way
  • online access has allowed more self-service by our Employees which has improved HR guest service relations
  • WDayforce is always innovating. Every new update brings another tool we can use to increase our productivity and accuracy.
  • Looking forward to the engagement surveys they plant o offer a couple of updates down the road
  • Would like to make better use of the Dashboards module (reports that help us create baselines and track improvements in labor management)
It's the best product for our needs at this time.

Evaluating Ceridian Dayforce HCM and Competitors

Yes - Empower (now VibeHCM and ADI timekeeping). We were looking for an all-in-one solution hat would allow for increased self-service ont he part of our management team and end users.
  • Price
  • Product Features
  • Product Usability
  • Positive Sales Experience with the Vendor
Product features- we were wowed by the possibilities and even two years in are still learning more about its potential.
I think our evaluation and selection process was very thorough. We had gone through the same process seven years previously and tweaked it to ask more questions and think more critically about our actual needs.

Ceridian Dayforce HCM Implementation

I feel like hiring a third party to oversee the implementation process would have been money well-spent. As it was, we spent the first six months after implementation cleaning up the system.
Yes - The first phase involved information gathering (reports and interviews to determine our needs as well as education on our part-videos and online classes through Dayforce). The second phase was testing various modules (scheduling, timekeeping, payroll first, then benefits, performance, reporting).
Change management was a minor issue with the implementation - Communication is key, so is ensuring that everyone on the team knows their roles and responsibilities.
  • Not everyone completed the prerequisite trainings, so they didn't understand what was required of that. That meant that those who had completed the training (mainly, me) had to take on a bigger part of the load.
  • Bad timing- starting this during Open Enrollment was a bad idea as my time was divided. We eneded up having to delay our go-live by 3 months.

Ceridian Dayforce HCM Training

  • Online training
  • Self-taught
I like that they use a test environment. It's very hands-on.
No. Initial training is vital. Once you have a few courses under your belt, the Dayforce Implementation Guide (which is several thousand pages long) starts making more sense and you can muddle through with additional topics.

Configuring Ceridian Dayforce HCM

Love the configurability. There are some things it can't do, but their customer idea portal allows customers to request items and vote on the other requests which drives improvements.
Look at your current processes. If any of those need to be tweaked, do it before you implement, so the system is good to go from the start.
Some - we have done small customizations to the interface - It's fairly easy to make adjustments to the various modules.
Some - we have added small pieces of custom code - Most of our custom code was added during implementation. After that, we required assistance form Support.

Ceridian Dayforce HCM Support

Support is hit and miss. Some staff are phenomenal. Others seem to understand the product less than me.
ProsCons
Kept well informed
Support understands my problem
Support cares about my success
Slow Resolution
Poor followup
Escalation required
Difficult to get immediate help
Slow Initial Response
Yes - No, some bugs have taken a long time to resolve. I think ultimately, though,t hat they do get resolved.
I love my Benefit Support person, Cheri. She resolves my issues quickly and expertly. I wish all of our support staff were as good as her.

Using Ceridian Dayforce HCM

In general, it is easy to use most functions, but in this fast-paced world, we're always looking for our products to do more faster.
ProsCons
Like to use
Relatively simple
Easy to use
Technical support not required
Well integrated
Consistent
Quick to learn
Convenient
Feel confident using
None
  • Benefit Enrollment is easy to set up and use
  • The Performance module has lots of great tools to allow for year-round performance evaluation as well as a yearly review.
  • The Scheduling module is somewhat frustrating for some of our departments who frequently have to adjust their schedules at the last minute to fulfill the needs of our groups.
  • Reporting has improved, but can still be somewhat difficult to create new reports.
Yes - Somewhat less functionality than the desktop version, but handles most of the basic functions. They are always improving on the app.

Ceridian Dayforce HCM Reliability

I guess I'm not sure what this question is asking.
They plan down times during the middle of the night which has little effect on our business.
Loading time can be pretty lengthy especially for reports.

Integrating Ceridian Dayforce HCM

The only "integration" we use is the export files to three of our vendors and those are pretty seamless.
  • none
no integration
  • File import/export
be sure to test before you go live.

Relationship with Ceridian

Dayforce updates the system twice a year. Sometimes the updates are behind the scenes and not noticeable to the end user. Other times the changes are pretty major. Dayforce usually pairs the upgrades with sample communication pieces.
Friendly and helpful
Transitioned to implementation tam, then customer support team.
There didn't seem to be a lot that was negotiable.

Upgrading Ceridian Dayforce HCM

Yes - Went well, few if any impacts
  • improved Performance module
  • not sure what's on tap for the enxt upgrade
