Overall Satisfaction with Certify

Certify is used throughout all departments of my organization to track travel expenses, company credit card charges, and reimbursement requests. It helps us to manage each of these accounting needs with relative efficiency.
  • Store receipts at the time of purchase.
  • Submit expense reports for review.
  • Interface is not intuitive compared to major competitors.
  • Saves time as compared to a paper expense tracking process, but isn’t as efficient as some competitors. ROI is entirely dependent on what method your organization used previously.
  • Allows for a clean expense report workflow. Receipts easily flow from the submitter to the approver and to accounting. It eliminates some potential errors that may occur in a more manual process.
If the alternative is submitting expense reports on paper or through in-house software, I’m definitely inclined to say that Certify will save you time, money, and headaches. After one or two sessions in the app, you’ll get the hang of it and make good use of it. Compared to some of its competitors, however, I do not think Certify is the most intuitive or time-efficient. The steps necessary to record and submit your expenses do not necessarily occur in the order or manner you might presume.
Certify is similar to Expensify in terms of features and overall potential. Expensify, however, works exactly how I expected it to work when I first opened it. There was very little that I had to learn. Certify’s workflow and interface are a little different than I anticipated, which led to some pain points early in the onboarding process.
Certify is not bad software by any means - it does everything it claims to do. Users can save receipts, sync them to automatically imported expenses, track travel expenditures, and submit expense reports. Having all of those features in one place is helpful in accounting efficiency. However, having switched to this platform from Expensify, I would say that Certify has a significantly greater learning curve. The workflow is not intuitive and requires training videos or experimentation before new users can get the hang of it.
