Overall Satisfaction with ChatGPT

As a freelance writer, I use ChatGPT as an ideation partner, a research assistant, and a wordsmith. It has helped me trim lengthy articles, say things in a different way, provide me with options, and find the information I need. Things that use to take me 4 hours now take one or less.

Pros

Cons

  • If I use research mode, the output is incredibly redundant, with the bot saying the same thing at least three different ways, and requiring a lot of editing, even though the quality and thoroughness seems better.
  • I don't know how to use Agent mode, and would love a simple guide or how-to.
  • Very high efficiency—things that used to take me 4 hours now take 1 or less.
  • Better output, as I can use it as a brainstorm partner and editor-in-chief.
It's incredibly intuitive and easy to use, and the bot adapts to my unique style over time, which has been very helpful. It knows what I like and don't like to see based on thousands of prompts and the interface is great. However, some features like Agent mode are difficult to use.
ChatGPT is simply the most complete, well-rounded AI tool in existence right now. It can do everything the others can, often better, and often in a way that's more intuitive and easier to iterate. It takes prompts far better than most, and incorporates direction better than other tools. I would recommend a niche tool for something niche, but generally, ChatGPT is the best.

It's well suited to edit and optimize a long-form, human-written article. It's not well suited to write it in its entirety. It's well suited to think of ideas and ways to say the same thing in different ways, but less well suited to actually thread them coherently in a narrative.
