Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Catalyst 9100 Access Points

We use our Cisco Aironet 1850 Series Access Points in our four city offices to provide wireless internet to employees and customers alike during purchase periods. We also put it in tags for use with data collector systems using RF. The captive portal system to connect customers is amazing and can be customized with the data to be inserted and layout. Deploying the access point is extremely simple with just a network cable connection. Management is performed via the web because this model has an integrated controller to manage wireless network equipment without IT intervention. The radiofrequency calculations, best channel, and interferences, for example, are done automatically.
  • It is a versatile, clean, balanced and secure access point.
  • Wifi 5 802.11ac wave 2 technology.
  • Client link and cleanair are functions to mitigate and improve user connection.
  • Reliable smartnet service for warranty and technical support.
  • Perfect for offices and indoor locations.
  • This model does not yet support the new wifi technology 6.
  • It cannot be deployed outdoors.

  • It has a good impact because it is a solution that has improved the wireless network.
  • Guests now need to register to access the network.
  • It is discreet, elegant, fast and easily fixed to the ceiling.
The 1850 access point has good performance for low to medium levels of simultaneous accesses. I don't recommend it for high density because it can create bottlenecks in the wireless network. Overall, it is excellent for any indoor environment to provide secure access and good signal and connection quality.
Access points were easily provisioned and installed at sites. They are connected to the ceiling of the offices, and the controller manages them automatically. The software has an excellent response time, and the equipment quickly obtains the information that IT has configured.
The settings that the access points get from the wifi controller are fast and take less than 5 minutes. It doesn't need any human intervention in the locations to configure one by one.
I recommend using this Cisco 1850 access point for offices, factories, schools, colleges, hospitals, and other indoor environments. It has great support for a medium density of simultaneous connections and has interesting features to mitigate and improve the quality and strength of the wifi signal. The captive portal brings more security and control of who is accessing the wifi network and prohibits unauthorized access. The price is great, and it has Cisco's reliability in technology.
