It's being used to interconnect many geographically distributed buildings around the country and perform 802.1x authentication based on an external identity store.

We are benefited by virtualization by creating different VRF domains for different branches of business like professors and students in an academic environment and employees and consultants in a corporate environment. We are less benefited by analytics feature cause they just send data to an external tool that do this job.
The manageability is a good point once we can stack many switches by floor and manage them as one unique box per floor. We do not use advanced customization.
They can be stacked as a unique switch increasing the port number, manageability and reducing the uplink and broadcast traffic among many cascadeds switches. We've selected Catalyst Switches because of its great hardware, widespread documentation and the best manufacturer support.
