Overall Satisfaction with Cisco HyperFlex
Cisco HF solution is used in both scopes - IT and OT. For IT serve common applications - MS SQL, Oracle, WEB Applications, service systems. For OT we have moved to a virtual SCADA environment - all OT services (DB, applications) has been moved on HF platform. Before Cisco HF it was a big outage time ranges due slow DB or physical serves down. After migration - 0. We have 100% OT availability. Same for IT infrastructure - new service implementation take 20 minutes VS 4 hours before.
- Fast and responsive operation.
- Great support.
- One management and monitoring point.
- Legendary reliability.
- SNMP or API monitoring
- Dependence on additional equipment
- High cluster survival rate
- Saved Data Centre space.
- Low power consumption.
- A sufficiently expensive solution.
As part of the solution, Cisco HyperFlex gives you more options for managing, monitoring and controlling your enterprise infrastructure. The mobility and flexibility of the services allow administrators full control of the server farm and services. In addition, the availability of monitoring capabilities and API allows the use of monitoring systems like Zabbix, Observium.
Unfortunately, such technologies have not been applied in our company. The reason is not the solution from Cisco HF, but the users and the business, which were not ready for such breakthrough and modern solutions. However it does not mean that such a solution will not be used in the future in our company.
According to security policy and auditing, automatic update processes have been disabled. This great feature cannot be used in a production environment, as there is always a risk of failure when applying updates. But we decided to upgrade the system completely to get the new task automation features.
This technology has been tested and found to be necessary to fully monitor equipment and prevent equipment problems. Using, setting up the service does not cause any difficulties, and the result is just great.

Using Cisco HyperFlex
1000 - If you offer a mini-cloud solution on your infrastructure, there will be thousands of users. And that's the reality. What's more, Cisco HyperFlex has proven to be ideal for security systems - facial recognition, video surveillance.
2 - And I can attest to that. Indeed, 2 engineers are enough to maintain the system. Moreover - almost 90% of the time they will not have a job. 10% are requests to create virtual machines or maintain them. The platform itself works so that the best principle here is "it works - do not touch".
- One MS SQL instance for multiple services.
- Support for systems with multi-threaded data processing.
- Virtual firewalls.
- Support for virtual HASP keys.
- Tight integration with Veaam products.
- ISCSI support.
- Data Lake.
- Big Data processing.
- New DMS implementation.
Evaluating Cisco HyperFlex and Competitors
- Product Features
- Product Usability
When we originally decided to implement a virtualization system based on hyperconverged solutions, we didn't know what exactly we were going to implement. There were solutions from Lenovo, HP, Huawei. Cisco stood out because the time to implement the entire complex was less than 48 hours. That sounded fantastic, but in a real installation it took 24 hours. Especially since Cisco has historically been our partner for over 20 years.
Definitely not. The solution has proven to be fully operational, flexible, and secure. Not a single reason to reconsider or regret our decision.
Cisco HyperFlex Implementation
- Implemented in-house
Change management was minimal
- Power.
- Fiber Connections.
Cisco HyperFlex Support
Pros | Cons |
---|---|
Quick Resolution Good followup Knowledgeable team Kept well informed No escalation required Immediate help available Support understands my problem Support cares about my success Quick Initial Response | None |
We've never had a need for extended support. We have good relationships with Cisco integrators and distributors and if there are questions about using or supporting the solution.
If you look at integrators as part of a Cisco support solution - these cases are quite frequent. When you can get support in your own language and at a convenient time, it's invaluable for business.
