So Good
Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE)
I implement Cisco Identity Services Engine in client organisations, to secure client access to their systems. The client problems I asked to address primarily to overcome issues of no segmentation, and a distinct lack of security in the corporate network. Use cases are the standard ones of corporate wireless and wired access and guest access.
Pros
- The ability to use many backend auth systems
- Its versatility in providing auth responses
- Its maturity as a product
Cons
- Compatibility with browsers is an issue
- Sometimes slow at responding to input
- I have used it to make it easier in a repatch job, when installing new switch kit. MAB allowed us to map devices to VLANs without having to know the exact end port the device is meant to be in.
They stack up well and co exist.
