Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Secure Access by Duo

Cisco Secure Access by Duo is being used for remote access with Cisco AnyConnect in different platforms (Win, MAC, Linux) integrated into the Active Directory. Some users use their phones as second-factor authentication, while others use a Yubico Key. This implementation allows us to secure access to our corporate network with the Zero-Trust concept.

Also, we are using Cisco Secure Access by Duo as a Single-Sign-On solution in order to authenticate legacy applications and cloud solutions such as Google Workspace. It's totally recommended. You can have a dashboard to get detailed information about what's happening with the remote users.
  • Users easily self-enroll in minutes
  • Assess the health and security posture of any device
  • Reliable inventory tracking and reporting of endpoints
  • Easy implementation and very good documentation
  • High availability of the service
  • Easily enforce
  • Compliance
  • With Adaptive Policies
  • If you need to integrate some legacy applications to Cisco Secure Access by Duo, it's not easy.
  • If you want to have more detailed information and reports, you need to pay more for the licensing. The basic option is not enough.
  • A constraint could be that each employee has to install it on their personal smartphone, which some don't like. But, there is an alternative using SMS, although sometimes it takes too long to receive the message.
  • Assess user risk within minutes
  • Cisco Secure Access by Duo cloud-based MFA eliminates the need for on-prem appliances and hardware; you don't need to invest in your data center
  • There is no on-going maintenance or service costs, eliminating time to patch and update
  • No required important IT time and extra resources beyond implementation
It's a solution easier to manage if you compare it with others—faster deployment, very good scalability, easy to use, and simple to the end-user. There's no need to schedule downtime for patches and updates. It has a lot of out-of-box integration for many on-premises and cloud apps. As a cloud solution, it cuts operational costs in your data center, minimizing TCO.
Cisco Secure Access by Duo meets Compliance Requirements like PCI, NIST, and GDPR, among others. It allows minimizing security risk if there are compromised credentials trying to access critical business data. You can use push notifications, soft tokens, SMS, phone call, smartwatch wearables, hardware tokens, and biometrics options to enable second-factor authentication.
If you put a good set of policies in place, you can control compromised devices.
The support is very good. There is a pool of experts available to help you address any question. The response time is quick.
A highlight is documentation, which is well structured, available online, very detailed information even with step-by-step instructions, and is easy to understand. It helps you a lot during the implementation.
Cisco gave us excellent support when we needed to integrate it into our Active Directory, understanding in a very good way the details of the proxy server and configuration related. Also, they helped out during the implementation of Single Sign-On for our legacy applications like Power AS400, Compiere, and other web applications coded in PHP.
It's easier to deploy. When comparing the quality of technical support, Duo Security is the preferred option. Duo has better integration options for out-to-the-box on-premise and cloud applications. The dashboard brings you more reports, and the access event logging is very complete. The quality of end-user training and documentation is superior.
