Overall Satisfaction with Cisco UCS Series

Both our main production site and our site use UCS as their primary virtual machine. All of our servers have been replaced with UCS blades, thus we no longer have a traditional server setup. UCS and VMWare have made firmware upgrades a snap, with no downtime, because to their integration. Once the blade comes, the template is ready to go as if it had been there all along. This is another benefit of scaling up with additional blades.
  • Long-term reliability. There have been few hardware failures with Cisco UCS throughout the years, unlike some of the company's other systems
  • Easy OS updates and full firmware packages that cover all of the sub-components, there is little downtime for firmware upgrades
  • Some issues with the operating system were present in Memory's memory for some time. A few DIMMS had to be replaced before the current firmware stabilized the problem
  • Although some of the templating is a little difficult to understand, this is typical of most Cisco products
  • It has a wide range of architectures supported, making it a flexible tool
  • It is a server that can handle a wide range of tasks and is also quite flexible
It was HPE Proliant's capacity to scale and manage its systems that marketed HPE Proliant. UCS with VMware was far more robust when we built a modest cluster in our environment. It's true that management could be done from a single place, but putting servers under their proprietary hypervisor still required a lot of work. I believe that in a few years, they will pose a serious challenge to Cisco's UCS, but for now, they aren't cooked enough to pose a problem.
When we first started using them, there were some reservations, but it quickly became apparent that they were the right decision, and they've held up well to this day. Cisco equipment is almost always a safe bet, and I believe that Cisco UCS is the best of the best.
We are quite happy with them, and we will continue to use them in the present project. In fact, we have already begun expanding their capabilities in response to consumer requests.

Do you think Cisco UCS Series delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Cisco UCS Series's feature set?

Yes

Did Cisco UCS Series live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Cisco UCS Series go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Cisco UCS Series again?

Yes

Cisco was a pioneer in redefining the traditional server paradigm, and it's the only one we've seen so far. When it comes to infrastructure upgrades, we're not tempted by the latest hyper-converged offerings. The HP Poliant and HP blades were our go-to weapons for years. However, nothing has come close to matching UCS's comprehensive offering. Network, computing, and storage management capabilities have not yet been beaten.
