Mobility and security with Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers
Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers
This wireless LAN controller provides the wireless network management of some branches of our operation. We have implemented several APs and are managed by two Cisco 3504 Wireless LAN Controllers in redundancy to avoid interruptions. One of the problems that the Cisco Wireless LAN Controller solves is easy configuration, installation, and monitoring, because all APs are self-provisioned by it automatically.
Pros
- Unified management and easy control of everything
- Roaming layer 2 to allow even greater mobility
- Automatic provisioning of APs with the controller
- Manages up to 150 APs and 3,000 users at the same time
Cons
- This version could be upgraded to support up to 200 APs; it would be amazing if that happens
- Better use of the mobile Internet network
- Security first with authentication portal
I have known how to use several wireless LAN controllers and Cisco APs for a few years and I can say that this new line is really surprising and great. The purchase price is relatively low compared to the amount of wireless network control technology features available--roaming to facilitate commuting in the company, OEAP technology to enable home office, support up to 150 APs, WiFi 802.11ac gigabit ethernet, control and self-provisioning of APs, ClientLink to avoid interference, and others.
