Overall Satisfaction with Concur Travel and Expense
Concur Travel and Expense is used across our organization to track expenses and for certain departments to book their travel. As our organization is very decentralized, Concur Travel and Expense has been helpful for department supervisors who need to track expenses and have them approved by people who are in offices across the country. The design and simplicity of tracking expenses in Concur Travel and Expense means that I don't have to spend hours tracking down receipts or making sure everything matches up, but rather I can just start an expense report upload digital receipts or scanned receipts and be finished within 15 to 20 minutes.
- It has efficient tools to create, edit, and submit expense reports.
- The design is quite intuitive and makes it easy to learn.
- Recently I found that Concur Travel and Expense has been automatically creating new expense reports pre-loaded with expenses from the current month. This is not obvious on the homepage so I often find myself creating a new expense report only to remember about the automatically created one. Perhaps this is nit-picky but it is one piece that has caused me some frustration.
- While some expenses are automatically categorized effectively, I've found that roughly 75% are categorized as "other" or "unknown," which is fine but it would be great if the software was able to automatically organize better.
- I have saved a lot of time using this program to submit expense reports.
- I do not worry about forgetting any expenses, receipts, or categorization details since Concur lets me know what I need to add or change.
I ran expense reports for my first job out of college several years ago and do not remember the system that we used, but I do specifically remember it being a very frustrating experience and much less intuitive than I find Concur Travel and Expense to be. Naturally, Concur Travel and Expense is much better than having to track all expenses manually, which I have also done plenty of in various jobs!
I am not sure about what other software or tools my organization has integrated with Concur Travel and Expense besides having the expenses linked directly to my work credit card statements. There may be some great tools that are integrated for those who use Concur Travel and Expense for booking and planning travel, but since that is not part of my job I am not aware of what that may be.
Among the best features of Concur Travel and Expense are the icons that let you know what is needed for each expense line item (receipts, categorization, etc.). I believe the automatically generated report may also be a useful tool once I adjust to the new processes around it as it could shave off the additional two to three minutes I would need to generate a new report.
Using Concur Travel and Expense has been wonderful because it eliminates the frustrations and difficulties that I understood to come with creating expense reports and tracking expenses. The first time that I had to go in to create an expense report, I was dreading the work that would come with it, but even after just one expense report I found the entire process to be easy, fast, and efficient. In short, Concur Travel and Expense saves me time and keeps me happy when tracking my monthly expenses.
