Overall Satisfaction with Concur Travel and Expense

We use it to account for personal reimbursable expenses and travel arrangements, including hotels, rental cars, flights, trains etc. As far as I know we use it across all departments, including audit, tax, advisory, as well as internal business services (e.g., HR, internal audit, KPMG business school staff etc.) This application is also widely used by executive assistants who support partners.
  • Mileage calculation feature is great.
  • Attaching receipts is easy.
  • Matching travel reservations to internal conferences/firm-wide meetings is a great addition.
  • Per Diem reimbursements are set up in a confusing way (start travel date; arrival date) - this feature is my least favorite.
  • Meal reimbursements for a group are always equally split regardless of the value ordered by my team members - not fair and annoying as I end up paying their portion of taxes.
  • Use of MapQuest-style maps is not visually appealing as it looks quite outdated.
  • Easy to compile periodic expense reports.
  • Easy to track reimbursement status.
  • The feature for per diem allocation should be improved.
  • I love that tax rate that is automatically assigned depending on the destination.
Overall, Concur Travel and Expense is better integrated and configured to KPMG needs. I like that mileage is automatically calculated when you enter two addresses. Also, you can easily choose a hotel that is in a close proximity to any KPMG office in a any city - this feature was not available in SYNC.
As I’m part of client servicing personnel, I’m not aware of any integration efforts completed by KPMG.
I like hotel recommendations, specifically those that within KPMG policy.
It has certainly reduced time it normally would take to account for expenses.

It is great for corporate environments where employees incur various reimbursable expenses. Having a profile with airline reward programs and hotel chain affiliations makes booking easier and more convenient. However, Concur Travel and Expense is not appropriate for a small business that has very few employees, primarily due to a high implementation cost and extensive configurations that will be necessary.
