Overall Satisfaction with Conductor Searchlight

It is used by the Inbound Marketing department to monitor and report on organic search performance and to identify opportunities to optimize and improve clients websites

Pros

  • Does a good job at providing recommendations that we can use as a starting point for website optimizations.
  • Integrates with our analytics and GSC to provide our team insights in one place. Analytics access here is stingy so its useful for us to at least get an idea of traffic coming to the site, etc.
  • The user experience of this tool is much better than our old one, and the live support is incredible.

Cons

  • Would like Domain Explorer to be able to be utilized on a page level basis. Diving down into detail is very important and getting domain wide data doesn't help as much as page level would.
  • I don't find the link center particularly helpful so expanding or improving this tool to be more helpful in generating insights would be great.
  • Its tough to tie organic search success to dollars generated. Developing a tool to better help tell that story or tie it into business cases would be great.
  • Its helped our efficiency when doing weekly monitoring, as we can get the majority of information we look at within the tool, rather than jumping into 8 different ones.
  • I've used recommendations for pages that have seen improvements on in terms of rankings, which in turn has helped grow site traffic.
The support Conductor provides has been incredible. From when we started to now I have nothing but great things to say. Live support is always professional and helpful, despite me asking probably the easiest questions in the world. Our reps are always willing to help us out and to work with us based on our specific team needs.
We moved from BrightEdge to conductor because of its usability, similar or expansive features and tools, and because it was the better tool for us to provide more value to our clients
This tool is incredible for reporting the what, and it can help with the why. It does a good job at helping you identify what content is driving traffic and the keywords you've associated those pages with. I find that extremely helpful when reporting to clients. Tying dollars into the story would be great to have, but that is a challenge industry wide.

Using Conductor Searchlight

InsightStream and Workspaces save a ton of time in terms of going to pull data to identify insights. Rather I open conductor and immediately get updated insights the tool is generating. A great way to identify things I might need to look into.

    Thank you for the review! Efficiency gains are one of the key reasons to use a platform like Conductor, so it is awesome to hear we are delivering that to your team. Even more important, it's great to see your ranks and traffic increasing. That's what it's all about. Thanks for the critical feedback and especially for the level of detail. This is incredibly helpful when I sent it over to Product. You can plug in individual pages to Audience Intent Explorer and it will give you discovered keywords even if you don't track them, but it doesn't give some of the trended data you see in Domain Explorer so I can see your point here. Expanding our link data is also becoming a more popular request, so I will be sure to add another "vote" on your behalf. And, finally, the ability to tie revenue to your actions in organic marketing can be tricky. The good news: we are working on new and innovative ways to tell this story. For now, Content Activity Reporting is proving to be a great new way to easily track changes to a page and see the outcome; you should definitely have your CSM demo this if you've not dug in already.
