Overall Satisfaction with Conductor Searchlight

We're an enterprise-scale SaaS provider with a long sales cycle. It's imperative for us to get in front of decision makers at all stages of their journey, and Conductor has been a game-changer in helping us do that. We've been able to uncover unique content opportunities based on gaps in the market that we simply had no insight into previously. We have a small group of digital and content marketers who use Conductor regularly to research content ideas and track outcomes, but the insights we gather are used to inform everyone from our market intelligence team to product marketing managers to web developers, and more.
  • Competitor tracking and market share analysis help us see trends in the market and uncover content gaps and opportunities.
  • Keyword tracking, categorization, trends and ranking analysis helps us measure our success and find opportunities to improve.
  • Creating reports is quick and easy, and with scheduled delivery I've been able to spend my time analyzing data to uncover insights, instead of cleaning data in Excel.
  • The Customer Support team are rockstars. They know SEO and look for opportunities to help, keep an eye out for anomalies, and even onboard our new staff for us.
  • Backlink monitoring is pretty basic. You'll still want another tool for any real backlink analysis.
  • Bulk management of keywords, keyword categories, and content segments isn't always intuitive. I often end up in the wrong place in the settings for what I want to manage.
  • Using Conductor has helped us scale our SEO program internally. Content marketers and product marketing managers are able to conduct their own research and do their own reporting as necessary, which in turn has improved their content while opening up our SEO manager's schedule for more strategic thinking rather than pulling lists of keywords.
  • We've been able to uncover new strategic opportunities against our competitors with the increased insight into their activities, at a scale that we couldn't manage prior to using Conductor.

Conductor has so much data. I often find myself digging deeper into the reports and data and getting lost for hours...but always coming out with new insight into our market or new opportunities to leverage. If you're a data nerd, this platform is for you!

Conductor has also developed a great strategy at leveraging partners to build out their tool set - they use Moz data for links and DeepCrawl for site audits - while focusing development efforts on their core data set and features.
Using Conductor has allowed our content teams to perform their own keyword research as necessary. No more bottleneck waiting for me to help with keywords. They're now able to execute much more efficiently and consider organic search in every piece of content. The quality of our content has improved, as well as the efficiency of our SEO efforts.
Support has been amazing with Conductor. Our onboarding experience was really good - they sent us a package of swag that arrived just before we were scheduled to start our training sessions, which was very exciting. We were able to tailor the subject of our onboarding sessions to the topics and tools we'd want to start using immediately, and the team members who would be using them. And they continue to provide training and onboarding to any new staff we have!

Our customer success team has been phenomenal, as well. Not only do they know the product inside and out, but they also know SEO. They'll keep an eye out for opportunities and anomalies (I recently received an email asking if we were doing some A/B testing, because they saw 2 different pages receiving traffic), and help build out reports when we need them. We recently switched from bi-weekly strategic sessions - which was great at helping us get the most out of the product as new users - to their on demand CSM team, which helps us better make use of that strategy time when we need it for specific projects and less when we're on holidays, etc.
Conductor is our first enterprise-level SEO platform. We also evaluated BrightEdge and Searchmetrics.
Conductor is very well suited to a large, enterprise marketing team. We have several content marketers and product marketing managers working on various projects at any given time, and the ability for each of them to use Conductor on their own for research and tracking has helped us scale our SEO efforts effectively.

Conductor is fantastic at reporting. The reports are easy to build from any data within the platform, and can be emailed to anyone on any schedule. I used to spend hours every week in Excel collecting and cleaning data. Now I spend that time on analysis and finding great opportunities.

Using Conductor Searchlight

The initial learning curve was pretty steep as there are so many tools and so much data, but the training team was a great help at getting us up and running. I still find I get a bit confused about where I might find a particular piece of data (eg. was it in Domain Explorer or Audience Intent Explorer?), and bulk management of keywords, keyword categories and content segments can be confusing.

Building reports (or as they call them, "Workspaces") is extremely easy. Any piece of data you want from the platform can be added to any report with just a click, and they can be scheduled to be emailed to anyone. They've vastly improved our reporting efficiency, so we can spend our time on analysis and insight rather than collecting data.
