Overall Satisfaction with Control-M
We have 50,000 defined jobs and execute about 500,000 jobs a day. Control-M integrates all legacy products with bought applications and third-party services. We often use AI and restful web service calls for this purpose. We recently implemented Control-M self-service and granted specific developers access to take action on jobs. The next step will be the introduction of WCM.
Pros
- AI provides a workaround to be able to monitor asynchronous web service calls.
- Selfservice gives users a complete overview of their job flow and the current status.
- it's easy to access that output of a job that failed.
Cons
- Certificate on all levels: Each agent uses different keystrokes for different functions, such as AI, web service calls, and MFT.
- It's really hard to manage these keystrokes.
- Trust stores, in case control-m, act as servers; it should be simple to implement certificates from a corporate CA.
- Some functions must be performed in the fat client, while others can only be performed through the web interface. This should be streamlined as soon as possible.
- 90% of our turnover is depending on Control-M job flows.
200 - Control-M Admin - 2 Control-M jobplaner - 5 Operator - 15 Developer using self-service about 150.
The Control-M Agent is outstanding. Using the Control-M Application Integrator gives opportunities that no other product offers.
