Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We are using CSOD across the entire organization and have decentralized so that each division may use customized features applicable to their needs. It addresses mainly delivery of training, reporting and compliance. I personally am a fan for its reporting capability. I find it to be superior than the other Learning Management Systems I've used or received demos with.

Return on Investment

Improve user learning experience/Met objective! Though there are room for improvement as CSOD continues to update the overall UI.
Accurate reporting on compliance/ Met objective! Fantastic reporting features.

Product Configurability

It's pretty configuration. I'd like it to be more configurable. There are definitely features big and small that are either not configurable, or not configurable at a global skill, or has to be a billable work order, or free but requires an open ticket for the Global Product Support agent to configure. Give the client administrators more power please!

Alternatives Considered

Saba Cloud and Bigtincan

Aside from what's listed above, I've also evaluated Myagi, Docebo, and some other companies I can't recall... Ultimately, when it comes down to it, the ability to set training visibility and availability, accurate reporting, user interface and user experience customization and reporting flexibility and functionality from Cornerstone OnDemand crush the competitors' offering. There is just so much more you can do with Cornerstone OnDemand in terms of customization and decentralization. The grade book functionality (transcript) is not perfect but definitely better than the competitors as well.

Likelihood to Recommend

It's well suited if you want to have a powerful LMS and produce all kinds of different metrics to measure success. It's not suited if you don't really have a compliance requirement and don't care too much about basic metrics. Reason being, there's so much you can do with Cornerstone OnDemand, but if you don't have reason, resources, and time to use all the features. It would be a waste and you'll be better off with a simpler learning management system. Ultimately, know what your organization needs on the short term and in the long run before you purchase an LMS.

Great LMS if you want to do ALL THE THINGS!
