Overall Satisfaction with D&B Finance Analytics
I use it as a first cut of evaluating prospects; the broad information in D&B Finance Analytics allows me to quickly determine if the company is worth looking into further. I mainly rely on the UCC financing information to determine if the company has utilized equipment financing, mainly through vendors.
Pros
- Shows UCC filings.
- Shows bill pay history.
- Show the number of employees.
Cons
- Hard to see all UCC filings.
- UCC filings should be listed in reverse time order.
- A quick summary of many UCC filings that exist by year would be helpful.
- It allowed me to target calling efforts to those companies most likely to finance the equipment.
- Hard to quantify specific numbers, but without this tool, we would have missed on several million dollars of business activity over the past two years (about 8% of our total).
- D&B Hoovers
D&B Hoovers is another good product, particularly for evaluating larger companies. I have no experience using products that compete with either Finance Analytics or Hoovers, so I can not address that. Based on our experience, however, we think that any D&B product offering would be worth considering using.
