Overall Satisfaction with D&B Hoovers

Challenges and opportunities addressed with D&B Hoovers revolves primarily around identifying key site contacts for prospects and vendors. It is also used to identify ownership structure, location(s) and estimated sales volumes. D&B Hoovers is utilized by our Commercial Relationship Mangement team throughout the bank within the State of Michigan where we have a commercial banking presence.

Pros

  • Identifies primary site contacts and their respective title
  • Identifies whether or not the business is locally owned or part of a national organization.
  • Estimates annual sales volumes.

Cons

  • Periodically I find site contacts that are either deceased or no longer with the company for a long period of time.
  • Site contacts are not always available, particularly for smaller organizations.
  • Primary location or "HQ" not easily identifiable.
  • Speeds up prospecting efforts when new prospect is identified.
  • Confirms whether the existing detail I have gathered for the prospect is accurate.
  • Provides additional site contacts and location information that can be very valuable during my discovery process.
Have not used other systems like D&B Hoovers in a very long time. Not broke so not going to fix it! It has all of the tools that I am looking for.

Search feature works quite well, using either a shortened name search or the full name search. Rarely am I unable to find the company that I am seeking information on.
