- Make it easier to pull list previews
Good Tool But Price Is Very Steep
The BI team is primarily using D&B Hoovers.
- Layout
- Data
- Insight
- Updating Site Locations Within Corporate Hierarchies
- License Cost
- Unexpected Shutdowns
- Integrates with Salesforce.
- Contains most needed information.
- Has good information breadth.
- Automation can be lacking.
- Documentation not always clear.
- Sometimes Salesforce integrations not always clear.
D&B Hoovers - the Tom Brady of sales intelligence platforms. Been around forever, and still the best.
- Appends firmographic information to accounts in Salesforce via an integrated service
- Corporate hierarchy structures are the industry standard using the DUNS information
- Providing a robust number of filters when searching the database to easily get to the information you are looking for
- D&B Hoovers does not include the full D&B dataset and does not include out-of-business or non-marketable companies. As a result, if there was a match on the DUNS previously, but now the company is out-of-business, information can no longer be found in Hoovers.
- Although the user interface was recently updated, certain elements are still not ideal like any custom views being created in the old UI not carrying over to the new UI and the inability to resize columns in grid views.
- The search could be better when looking for companies based on the tradestyle name or being able to search by an address from the main search bar instead of having to put it in the filters
- Corporate information.
- Contacts
- Ability to search by industry, location, and company size.
- Sometimes email addresses are not always available for contacts.
- Company sales data can sometimes be outdated.
- Company contacts can sometimes be outdated and no longer employed at the company.
A great tool for finding the right information
- Lead Generation.
- List Management.
- More information on smaller companies.
- More up to date information.
Excellent tool for account and territory planning
- Providing information on company contacts
- Providing very close to accurate revenue numbers for private and public companies
- Extremely easy to search and find companies regardless of size
- Some information can be inaccurate if a company operations regionally or have a siloed business structure
- Generic names (ex. Smith) can sometimes come back with bad information
- Sometimes when M&A activity takes place it does not reflect on D&B Hoovers quickly
My Honest Feedback on Hoovers
- The date base is easy to navigate.
- I have been able to find information on most companies.
- I like the option to be notified by email of any changes to a company that I save.
- Better and clear communication for the tech. dept
- Better and clear communication from the Hoover reps for customer accounts.
D&B Hoovers - Great for lead generation!

- Financial pre-screening
- Lead generation
- User-friendly interface
- Up to date contacts

Outdated but Comprehensive In My Opinion
- Comprehensive Set of Listings
- Relevant Information
- Multiple Ways to Search
- Outdated Company Information
- Outdated Company Ownership
- Defunct Companies
D&B Hoovers - Leaves a lot to be desired
- Industry of companies.
- Upper management.
- Compiling lists.
- Customer services takes too long to respond.
- Company information is not accurate.
- The company research reports are not current.
- News could be better.
Vital Tool In The B2B Sales World
- Quick snapshot of company size
- Quick snapshot of contact information
- Organizing companies within industries and including revenue sizes
- The recent change in appearance leaves some info, such as that in the UCC filing field out of sight.
- Revenue sizes are sometimes off by several million dollars but things are updated frequently
- I run into cookie browser issues where I have to clear all of my cookies to access information in my CRM - may not be related to D&B

Sales Journey Expedited with D&B Hoovers Ease & Accuracy
- Able to find target business decision makers
- Able to select email addresses only
- Sorting businesses through a variety of ways is helpful
- Able to select titles "containing" specific words
- We should be able to "exclude" words from titles or company names
- Able to access titles and email addresses more easily - not look at list first, select find matching contacts button, then go back to sort to add titles contain and email addresses, etc. This is a two-step process to get what I need.
D&B Hoovers is Money for Business Development
- Recent & Relevant News Articles
- Contact Information
- Size of Organization
- Parent/Child Relationships
- None, best tool on the market
One of the best sales prospecting tools in the market
Identifying contact details (with higher accuracy) of the prospects whom we want to target in our marketing campaigns. Finding out detailed financial and other firmographic and technographic information of a specific ICP company Primary users would be Market Analytics, SDR, and Marketing teams. The sales team uses it for finding company information and scoops.
- Detailed company information (including financials, recent press releases, technologies used) for many companies
- Ability to export all details into excel or PDF without any restrictions
- Very good contact details' accuracy (emails plus mobile numbers)
- UI looks like a bit archaic compared to few competitors
- Revenue and few details are hard to find (The usability could be improved by having clear demarcation - sometimes only "sales" word is mentioned and thus we get confused it is gross sales, net sales, or what)
- More in-depth details (budget, pain points, projects) specifically for the IT department would help companies like us
An essential tool for our business if you can get the right price
- Good market segmentation.
- One stop reports on client to take to meetings.
- Contacts to email.
