Overall Satisfaction with Ceridian Dayforce

The system allows our managers access to their people. It also allows them to make compensation changes, and Bonuses and route to the proper approvals.
  • Reporting is easier
  • Taxing work state and live state without the "payroll person having to guess"
  • Sending messages out to employees is exciting
  • The whole Orc setup is complicated
  • Changing and address system doesn't give you a check box to elect to update beneficiaries
  • Upgrades have to be made easier and [should] not effect prior settings
  • We just went live with our 1st payroll (13 Different EIN Both Bi-weekly & Weekly) Payroll was successful)
  • My implementation team was good however - I think they would be even better if they understood the whole process and not their special area. HR know HR - Payroll knows payroll and benefits know benefits. Not understanding how each effect each other makes things harder.
  • Pulling need files from one system to Dayforce - their has to better way. I did most of the data entry myself and still have the history to do.
Payroll preview is wonderful!! It actually is the reason my first payroll went so well, I was able to catch so many things before actually transmitting.
We are currently going through issue paystubs and the state of CA requirements. I think this is something Ceridian should have been up on.
The system is really easy however changes between upgrades take a minute to get comfortable with.
Dayforce takes you away from paper and is truly working smarter, not harder.
I was at session yesterday where Dave Ossip spoke about new things coming for Dayforce so the constant improvement is exciting.

Using Ceridian Dayforce

400 - Employees and Mgrs
Lots of Ceridian knowledge. I've been with some sort of Ceridian since 1988
  • Manager Access
  • Bonus tracking
  • Reporting
  • Bonus form with comments to get data in a report
  • looking at Timeshets and Timeclocks
Management is liking the access

Evaluating Ceridian Dayforce HCM and Competitors

Yes - ADP - they didn't have the mgr access we needed, and tax filing was horrible
  • Price
  • Product Features
  • Product Usability
  • Prior Experience with the Product
Price and product feature are on the same level. they have to fit in the budget.
Experience is better than doing this during implementation

Ceridian Dayforce HCM Training

  • Online training
  • in-person training
  • no training
This training was at insights, it was great once we have been on the system for a while so it makes sense.
I think in person is always better when learning something knew. I learned more at the insights training in person with the instructor.
Really depends if you have other Ceridian experience.

Ceridian Dayforce HCM Support

Getting thing resolved takes longer than expected. If it doesn't stop checks from being printed it is atleast 3 days mostly longer before you actually get help. Once you get help in most cases you are good except for report.
ProsCons
Good followup
Knowledgeable team
Problems get solved
Kept well informed
Support cares about my success
Quick Initial Response
Slow Resolution
Escalation required
Difficult to get immediate help
Need to explain problems multiple times
My Implementation went bad, and there was year end things setup incorrectly and I caught this in December. I received help from the payroll support and we worked on correcting these issues for weeks. This rep was responding to my questions late at night and early in the morning. It took tons of testing and trials and errors. It literally went down to the day you were suppose to submit W2's. There is NO way my W2's or 1095 would have gotten done correctly with out her. I feel confident this year will be a breeze cause of all the work we did.

Using Ceridian Dayforce HCM

Once you use the system for a while it is easy HOWEVER somethings are still cumbersome.
ProsCons
Like to use
Relatively simple
Easy to use
Technical support not required
Well integrated
Consistent
Quick to learn
Convenient
Feel confident using
Lots to learn
  • Generating payroll is very easy and preview before transmitting is great!
  • Review HR data is very easy , as e very everything is in the same spot
  • Reviewing someone benefits is very easy to look and check
  • Reporting
  • Benefits Open Enrollement
  • The requirement for linking department to location
  • The address from a location doesn't flow to the link of the department location
