Overall Satisfaction with Ceridian Dayforce

We're using Dayforce across 3 corporate entities encompassing 250 employees in all business units. It's been great that all of our employees are under one HCM umbrella. It has alleviated some of the paperwork burden on our HR department because there's a lot of things that employees can do on their own without HR's oversight. Employees enjoy having all of their data in one single system.
  • It has lots of helpful modules available, which all work together in the single system. If there's a need identified, it's likely that one of the modules will solve that problem.
  • Customer support is pretty responsive on time-sensitive, critical issues like payroll.
  • The system is pretty intuitive on the user side. Once our employees went through the training, we haven't had many issues with employees being able to navigate the system on their own.
  • The implementation process is quite time-consuming on the company's end, and it feels like we're doing most of the work during implementation. I've implemented a few different modules at different times and I think the process is improving, but not quite there yet.
  • There's so many different modules that add to the cost of the system. While all modules seem great, we can only pick and choose a few to stay within our budget. I wish that more was included in each module, so as not to drive the cost up so quickly.
  • Because we have three different entities, we needed to add the logos and interface for each different company. We thought we could do this when we bought the system, but have learned that it's not possible to do this in some areas, such as Recruiting. It's frustrating when those corporate entities are the outward face of the organizations.
  • We've experienced a drastic reduction in paperwork, which has had a positive impact on our ROI. We have less dependence on our external systems to store paper and electronic files as required by law because Dayforce will house it for us.
  • Our HR team is more efficient because of the functionality in the system. There's fewer manual processes that require time and more of it is automatic, such as posting on job boards automatically instead of manually.
  • Our employees are more self-reliant, which has returned positive productivity both for them and for the HR team.
Dayforce has been very helpful in automatically regulating overtime policies, state and federal tax withholding, and EEO reporting. The system's reporting feature has allowed us to identify needs of improved compliance that we would have otherwise overlooked. The ability to set up rules to ensure compliance has been a great timesaver.
This has enabled us to quickly look at internal candidates and rehires to evaluate their past performance in consideration for a new position. Also being able to see historical data on compensation, other jobs applied, performance records, etc. all in one system has allowed us to make better hiring decisions.
The single sign-on capability of Dayforce has worked really well as long as long as you buy all the needed modules. Because each module requires an additional purchase, a company might be at a disadvantage due to budget to truly get the best of Dayforce. Other solutions have the capability of connecting with other systems that you may already own, but not always. On the few modules we use that work together, it's been great.
Dayforce works well in scenarios where all employees are in the same company and country. It's also fantastic to help the employees have their information at their fingertips, rather than needing to go through HR. It serves our needs well to eliminate paperwork as pretty much everything can be housed in the system.

Dayforce is less suited to organizations that have multiple entities. If you already have other systems that fill in some of the needs, like learning, benefits, etc., it's not very helpful because it doesn't interact with other systems too well.
