Overall Satisfaction with Dell PowerEdge R

I am a Dell channel partner and resell servers and workstations to small offices, medical and dental offices. It solves issues by having files centralized and on a domain. We use these servers so employees can share files view files and back up files. I have worked with Dell for years to customize the Power Edge servers to meet our clients needs.
  • The server takes up less space than the T server.
  • Customization features
  • Hot swapping of drives
  • Various Raid configurations
  • Pricing thru the years has not come down that much.
  • The ROI for the server--saves time, which in the long run saves money.
  • The redundancy features for backup, so minimizing downtime
  • The opportunity for everyone to be connected
I have used only Dell for 18 years.
Dell has a wonderful Pro-Support team for servers. I stress that everyone who owns in the PowerEdge line should have a Pro-Support warranty. You get technicians only in the USA, and they are now assigned to you. They follow your case from start to finish, until the issue is resolved.
Dell offers anything you need for your network, from sales to technicians, they have it all.

Do you think Dell PowerEdge R delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Dell PowerEdge R's feature set?

Yes

Did Dell PowerEdge R live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Dell PowerEdge R go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Dell PowerEdge R again?

Yes

Dell PowerEdge R is well suited for offices where there are at least 8 users and you are on a domain. The servers are built to last and they are pretty rugged. It's less appropriate in smaller offices since it can be overkill and they do not need such a server and could use a lower-end server.
