Overall Satisfaction with DraftSight

As a direct replacement for AutoCAD.
  • Everything that AutoCAD does.
  • Very intuative
  • No cross training required for AutoCAD users.
  • Integration with Bentley ProjectWise
  • Unhelpful sales team
  • Does everything AutoCAD does
  • No cross training required
  • Supports more older versions of AutoCAD versions than AutoCAD does.
  • DraftSight would be beneficial to our business but there is uncertainty about compatibility with Bentley ProjectWise as the vendor has not respond to inquiries.
  • Return on investment if we could use with Bentley ProjectWise Integration.
  • Zero contact from vendor despite several emails sent.
Comparisons done with AutoCAD, FreeCAD & LibreCAD. Until DraftSight sales & support address a query raised on more than occasion, I am not willing to recommend full replacement of AutoCAD with DraftSight Pro.

No scenarios just a very good product. Does what AutoCAD does with ease. Cheaper than AutoCAD & therefore supports business cost savings. Cannot recommend bechaues of lack of contact from vendors to several emails sents.

Using DraftSight

1 - Owner. Not willing to invest in much larger corporation to to lack of interest from vendor who refuses to respond to emails.
1 - Skills required are fully conversant with AutoCAD, lisp routines etc.
  • I have a personal license & use this in place of Expensive AutoCAD
  • If it was fully compatible with Bentley ProjectWise I would recommend full replacement across the business.
  • The vendor refuses to respod to amails about compatiblity with other specific applications
Extremely good product for the price with full AutoCAD functionality.

Evaluating DraftSight and Competitors

No - Replaced AutoCAD in my own business but not in the company I work for. Wanted to replace in the company I work for for cost savings.

I would change my evealuation if only the vendor was to respond to enquiries.

DraftSight Implementation

Single user license implemented by myself. I wished to replace over 100 AutoCAD license with draftsight but due to lack of response form the vendor that will not happen.

Change management was a minor issue with the implementation - Until Sales & support respond to emails there is no hope of expanded usage.

Very easy to use as a long standing AutoCAD user. No cross training required.

Yes - Upgrade to 2022 for personal license. No impacts.
  • Straight forward replacement for from 2020 personal license.
  • None. Just wanted the latest version.
