Dropbox Review
Overall Satisfaction with Dropbox
At Stories and Strategies, we use Dropbox as a central hub for file storage, organization, and collaboration across our team. It plays a key role in streamlining our workflow, ensuring seamless access to important documents, and maintaining version control across projects. We also use it for: File Organization & Accessibility Collaboration & File Sharing Version Control & Security Storage & Backup
Pros
- Large file transfers and organzation
- Cloud storage
- Search functionality
Cons
- While Dropbox allows setting folder-level permissions, it lacks granular control over subfolders within shared folders. For example, If we share a main project folder with a client, we might want to restrict access to certain internal subfolders. However, currently, permissions apply to the entire parent folder.
- While Dropbox integrates with Microsoft Office and Google Docs, there’s no native document editor for making quick edits without switching to another platform. If we need to make a quick revision to a script or a client brief stored in Dropbox, we must open it in an external app.
- Dropbox’s pricing structure isn't always ideal for smaller teams, as the jump from individual to business plans can be costly.
- Increased Efficiency & Time Savings
- Improved Team Collaboration & Remote Work Flexibility
- Reliable File Backup & Version Control
