Overall Satisfaction with Dropbox

To prepare content for publication in a quarterly magazine, we use Dropbox to share files between the editor and graphic/web designer. We also use Dropbox to prepare items for posting on our social media platforms. it's easy to see which files have been accessed and/or are scheduled for publication by looking at the time stamp and by renaming the file with a notation as to whether it's been scheduled or published.

Pros

  • Create a cataloguing site
  • Share files between individuals
  • create folders for separating files by topics

Cons

  • It would be great if I could tag some files as favorites so I can go right to them
  • I'd love to have a shared space that offers live access between/among designated individuals
  • Using the file sharing feature has doubled the timeliness of our publication.
  • Cataloguing and archiving our content provides us with a record of 10 years of prior work.
The platform is easy to use and very intuitive. It's easy to walk a new user through the steps to upload or access content. Further, once a file is housed in the platform, I can see when it was last accessed and by whom. This is helpful for understanding where we are in the file management flow.

Do you think Dropbox delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Dropbox's feature set?

Yes

Did Dropbox live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Dropbox go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Dropbox again?

Yes

Dropbox is helpful when a small group of specific individuals need access to content. Keeping the number of individuals who are entitled to access specific files, allows for a clear understanding of who has seen what. Dropbox is not appropriate for large group access. It is difficult to maintain control of content with large groups have access.
