Overall Satisfaction with Dropbox Business

Dropbox has not been fully adopted at our company but with so many personal preferences to file storage we find ourselves supporting elements of it all over our network or others. Currently it is being used within certain aspects of our company but more so when our end customer uses it. It solves a quick and easy to use file system/file sharing system that is not complicated and straight forward.
  • Dropbox Business is quick to deploy
  • The learning curve to use Dropbox when coming from other file services is easy
  • Dropbox is used in a lot of personal file spaces so working with the business element is not much change
  • Their ability to enhanced security
  • Child parent relationship permission settings
  • Proactive notification based of criteria when trying to control centralized filing errors
  • Ease of use for our customers
  • Marketplace and industry name recognition
  • Ability to collaborate within the system
  • Synchronization
  • If not deployed properly, the management even in the cloud can be a little messy as if it is just another shared local drive
  • It has decreased of physical footprint within our local server rooms
  • It has made conversations, collaborations and exchanges with customers easy
We mainly selected Dropbox business for the limited deployments are due to the customers we have already using them. They are not our centralized system of choice.

Do you think Dropbox Business delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Dropbox Business's feature set?

No

Did Dropbox Business live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Dropbox Business go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Dropbox Business again?

No

I see Dropbox Business being well suited as a platform to share documents with end customers. This is a quick and easy to deploy system that allows for collaboration under a well known secure cloud framework. The ability to access it through all sorts of devices via web server, app, desktop app make this easy to use on the go. I do not see Dropbox Business being the ideal solution for a full centralized filing system that wants to really manage permission level settings. If you come from Sharepoint to Dropbox you are going to feel like your security legs were cut out from under you.
