Overall Satisfaction with Druva inSync
Concentra purchased Druva from an acquisition of US Healthworks who used it enterprise wide for user backups of their work files.
- Druva allows for user access from anywhere in the world on multiple platforms, such as mobile and web platform
- As an administrator, the auditing of the data is easy. When recovering the data you have the ability to recover single items or the who backup.
- Managing users is also simple and hassle free with the admin console. Applying permissions for access or creating retention policies is simple.
- I can't think of any thing off the top of my head that Druva really needs improvement as i didn't encounter any issues.
- Overall, the auditing aspect was a huge plus, because the process was simple.
- Performing data migrations off Druva was also painless as they provided an application that does this for you.
- We saved a lot in time and money with using Druva as a backup and security access for data. The storage cost to bring it in-house was something we didn't have in our budget at the time.
Office 365 and Sharepoint were our only cloud apps that we used to protect with Druva. The process was seamless for the end user
Druva allows for you to set standards for security control. During my tenure with the application I didn't respond to any non-compliant end-users but I played with the features and again the auditing aspect is top notch.
During the acquistion we used the legal and security policies for retention and prevention of data download. We also used it to be used to prevent the data from being deleted by end users. This was a huge relief from our security team perspective.
COVID-19 Changes
With Druva as a way to backup critical user files and access from any location, our users are not hindered by the Covid-19 WFH situation. Users can continue to access these files while away from their network if allowed. We have Druva files as a historical file system that we hold for prior acquisitions.
Although we haven't had a recent incident of Ransomware we are able to utilize this as a backup of files in the event of such attack. Our security team does policies in place for such instances.
Yes, as a historical reference we do have Druva on hand for such measures. Each department utilizes Druva in different ways but overall the retention Druva has is great for these challenges.
