Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Duo

Our IT department implemented Duo Security for the entire company shortly after the pandemic started. It adds another layer of security and safeguards our network, while being super user-friendly. I was initially hesitant of having another login and thought it may be cumbersome but I quickly got used to it. The app was super easy to install and use.

Pros

  • Added security
  • User-friendly
  • Easy installation

Cons

  • I can’t think of any. I think it’s great the way it is.
  • I was not involved in the purchasing, so no input on ROI, but it’s a good safeguard and peace of mind which is hard to put a price tag [on].
As so many of our employees are working remotely and accessing our network from various devices, MFA is critically essential. Since its implementation, I’m more confident about the security of accessing our data via Duo. I also think it’s a great way for my company to track the employees’ access. I’m not aware of any data breaches and hope it stays that way.
I was not part of the planning but after it was implemented and as an individual user, I found the Duo app to be a bit tedious and even annoying at first. However, I understood the security risks we would have to face otherwise, and after a while, I got used to doing multiple authentications.
My company was already using Webex meetings regularly. So, it was not a new tool we had implement and it made the transition to hybrid work more seamless. The Duo app, on the other hand, was being used something new to me but it quickly became more common after the pandemic and in the current hybrid environment.
I personally experienced the convenience of using the Webex meetings and the sense of security of using the Duo integration. Based on my interactions with my colleagues and clients, I sensed that many of them felt the same way. In fact, some of my clients required us to implement two-factor authentications and/or asked to use Webex over other platforms, so I appreciated these tools were already implemented at my work.
As previously mentioned, I have used email/text verifications, like Okta, but that requires typing a series of numbers, so I have to copy and paste each time.
Duo is much simpler. Since I wasn’t involved in the purchasing process, I don’t know what other products were considered, but I’m glad my company went with Duo.

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Cisco Duo again?

Yes

I think Duo Security is suited for any organizations, period. We hear in the news almost daily where someone fell victim to a cyber-attack with a ransom. You can never be too careful or take cyber security issues lightly, especially so many people are still (and continue to be) working remotely. My husband works at a community college and they also use Duo Security, so it’s not just for corporations.

Resilience and Reliability

You can’t put a price on the value of having a reliable cyber security measure in place. One easy step of using a user-friendly app to assure my company assure that no one outside of our organization can access our data is invaluable.
Keeping their employees up to date with current trends of cyber security thread. Also, mandatory training is essential, so everyone is reminded of cyber security threats and know how to avoid them.
I’m not involved in the decision making process, but as a user, I’m happy with Duo.
As a user, it was very easy. I just downloaded the app and a quick registration.
I’ve never experienced any issues. It works like a charm every time.
It’s very seamless getting an approval from the Duo app and accessing our internal database.

Evaluating Cisco Duo and Competitors

  • Price
  • Product Features
  • Product Usability
  • Product Reputation
  • Prior Experience with the Product
I was not involved in the purchasing process but if I were, these are all important factors.
I was not involved in the decision making process but would suggest the team to read the reviews on TrustRadius.

Cisco Duo Support

Not applicable as I have never contacted their support team.
I have never had any issues using Duo, so never needed any support. I think that’s a sign of [an] exceptional product.
I’m not sure because I was not involved in the purchasing process. I also never contacted Duo’s support.

Using Cisco Duo

As a user, it was easy to install and to use. Our IT department sent a detailed instruction, not sure if it was provided by Duo or they created their own, but that was also easy to follow and helpful. Other MFAs I have use send verification emails/texts, but I much prefer Duo’s way.
