Overall Satisfaction with Dynatrace

Dynatrace is used by our organization across our consumer-facing applications in order to help us diagnose issues with the applications that may affect customers' ability to transact and use the product. We also use the service to monitor our services externally from the internet in order to ensure global availability.
  • Application performance management for Java apps
  • Container monitoring
  • Integration with AD
  • Ease of dashboarding for Synthetics
  • Faster response times to apps
  • Less downtime overall
We reviewed Dynatrace against AppDynamics and New Relic, and it really came down to who had the best whole package offering and price. Dynatrace, for what you pay, really gave us a great value for the money, and has helped immensely with finding problems in our environment. New Relic and AppDynamics did similar things, but were much more expensive, and did not function as well.
We haven't had to use support much, but overall it has been good.

Dynatrace is great if you have custom-written applications that you are running in the cloud or on-premises. It helps provide insight into your applications, how they are used, and what your customers are experiencing. For monitoring externally, the service works well to help you see what your customers are seeing.
