Overall Satisfaction with Dynatrace

We are using Dynatrace to monitor our environment of 1000+ hosts, both on cloud and on-premises, we are using DEM, synthetic to monitor various apps and perform auto healing as needed. Dynatrace works great on base-lining and alerting--seamless integration with different alert platforms.

Pros

  • Excellent topology display by Smartscape
  • Synthetic, DEM, and Davis are excellent tools

Cons

  • Heap dumps are hard to gather.
  • Event correlation is off sometimes.
  • Improved the ART for several containers
  • Error logging and heap dump gathering
Dynatrace has replaced our old monitoring product (CA Wily) and completely transformed the Infrastructure and Container monitoring.
Dynatrace's chat feature is excellent. The support community is also a great tool to find out information on various new and old issues.

Dynatrace is well suited for infrastructure, cloud, and container monitoring, as well as VMware monitoring.
