Overall Satisfaction with Expensify

I am a big fan of Expensify, at our organization we use it for to submit and pay out expenses, be it for customer offsites, company events, or other related travel. It also allows us to easily book accomodations on behalf of customers or prospects by giving them a quick and easy way to expense their charges.
For me, the best part about Expensify is just how easy it is to use. Since most of the things I book are done online, the receipts go to my inbox and I simply forward them to an email alias tied to my org and my account. The expense reports are automatically generated with receipts attached, and I only need to do a little bit of tagging.
Another cool feature is the distance calculator, which allows you to plug your trip into maps to determine your mileage.
Overall it's an easy to use system that is incredibly convenient and I would recommend it to any org looking for tech to make expense tracking simple and accessible.

Pros

  • Mileage expenses via a maps integration. No culculator necessary, Expensify does it for you.
  • Easy submission of receipts direct from email.
  • Sorting and tagging expenses based on categories so finance can easily sort through them.

Cons

  • I wish I could set global tags so that I don't have to do it every time - and if this is available make it more obvious
  • A budget panning feature would be nice, right now my boss uses a spreadhseet to anticipate cost
  • Expensify has made it easy for my team to submit expenses, so that it doesn't have to take up hours of their time.
  • Expensify makes it easier to track and stay on budget by allowing detailed categorization of expenses.
  • Expensify makes it easy for us to cover costs for partners, customers, and prospects.
I find the platform to be intuitive and easy to use. As I've said before the email feature where you can send a receipt directly to your hub makes it very convenient to do expenses. At previous organizations where we used other, less sophisticated tools, it was a major pain to log expenses and get re-imbursed and I would actually put it off or sometimes just not log certain expenses because it was more of a pain to do so than not.

Expensify does an excellent job at allowing employees to log expenses fairly seamlessly. The ability to email receipts and have a report automatically generated it an awesome feature, and I love the mileage integration with maps to do an automatic calculation for driving. Expensify seems less appropriate with tricket tax scenarios - our team offers stipends and awards which typically are dolled out through other methods because I don't believe Expensify makes it easy to handle or just isn't the mosty appropriate place.
