Expensify helps users to save time on expense management whether they are self-employed, starting a small business, scaling a startup, or managing a global enterprise company.

  • Scan receipts - snap a photo of any receipt (or forward digital receipts to receipts@expensify.com) for automatic scanning.
  • Submit expenses - automate expense categorization with smart rules and schedule reports to submit on a custom cadence.
  • Approve reports - set up multiple levels of approval and use Guided Review to keep approvers focused on risky or outlier expenses.
  • Book travel - book from a global inventory of flights, hotels, cars, and trains right in Expensify.
  • Track mileage - log trips in miles or kilometers for tax purposes or for reimbursement.

Easy to manage expenses with Expensify

  • Mileage - I find it very easy to create a map for mileage to and from the airports when traveling for work as I live far and need to track expenses.
  • Sub department tracking - we use a corporate card and use Expensify for tracking purchases with great detail that includes receipts and business purposes for different parts of our departments.
  • Mobile app friendly - we can use the mobile app easily while traveling for adding great quality photos of receipts.
Cons
  • Global use - we have team mangers and team mates all over the globe and it would be great to have an icon for currency as a manager so I can identify costs and currency conversions for budgeting.
  • Multiple page receipts - you can only upload a PDF or multiple page receipts. Sometimes you have to go out of the tool and back in to add more pages.
  • Auto-scanning - auto scanning and tagging could be a bit faster with the use of new AI tools.

  • alert me to issues.
Cons
  • Easily linking card expenses and exchange rate used to amount paid/expensed. Maybe it's how we've set it up as a company but I still have to faff around.

  • Checks your work so you do not submit errors or duplicates

  • Being able to NAME your reports that you submit.

  • Saves literally hours of my time, and I'm sure that of my employers too.
  • Removes errors (I always used to make at least one mistake!)
  • The user interface is intuitive - no training needed.
Cons
  • The app is a little slow uploading receipts, however you can keep on adding them and it will eventually catch up so is not a big deal.
