Overall Satisfaction with F5 BIG-IP

We advocate or provide advice for clients and specifically comes up for load balancing typically, or IP traffic management. It's a product that we usually recommend.

Pros

  • Load balancing across a large global environment.

Cons

  • I think some of the customer feedback we get is complexity and costs on add-on licenses to additional that are part of the portfolio and then year over year cost increase. But I don't hear any negative feedback on the actual technology.
  • I can't really think of negative. Positive would just be continued. We have a lot of loyal customers that stay on the platform, which is great for us as a partner because it's consistent business and expand business, so it's a positive. Positive for us.
It just sounds like there is some specific skillset required and experience. I don't think you can be, may be hard for someone that's a generalist or maybe lower skillset to be successful.
There's other, Kemp is one for that would be where we see the gap, where they do better in the mid-market space and then a 10 in the larger accounts. Those are probably the two that come to mind the most.

I think large organizations that have large data center, I guess whether it's on cloud or on prem, absolutely well suited. I think smaller companies and mid-market probably doesn't make sense or the cost to value just seems maybe not a fit.
