Overall Satisfaction with Figma

Figma is used in our Marketing department that services the entire University. As we design collateral and assets for all University initiatives we can utilize Figma as a central means of designing and wireframing digital campaign assets and prototypes for landing pages and other projects. It also simplifies working with external vendors that develop and assist with our digital efforts.

Pros

  • Cloud software with auto-save and no lag
  • Components!
  • Always adding features and integrations

Cons

  • Slight learning curve if coming from an Adobe workflow
  • Training resources are not as plentiful as Sketch and XD (Figma site is constantly improving though)
  • Not as easy to round trip like you can in Adobe products
  • Affordable subscription pricing
  • Constant updates allows us to provide better end assets
  • Ability to send clients online prototype links helps to speed up the approval process
  • Can handoff to development via an online link
Works on any platform and seems to be innovating at a faster clip than Sketch. Also has a very streamlined performance where Sketch can seem a little clunky even on decently spec'd computers. Figma also has plugins which is chipping away at one of Sketch's best features although Sketch will probably have the most plugins for awhile.
Very quick support replies. Also a very active online community.

Do you think Figma delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Figma's feature set?

Yes

Did Figma live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Figma go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Figma again?

Yes

Figma's online collaboration is unmatched. If you are working with a large team or especially a remote one this is a game changer. Also, Figma works on just about any platform as a desktop app in addition to designing in the browser so it's not tied to Mac like Sketch.
