Absolutely essential for any web or interface design team
Overall Satisfaction with Figma
Figma has been the most significantly disruptive design tool i've seen in over a decade - Perhaps the most essential tool for web graphics, interface design, and prototyping. I would encourage any design team to adopt this software into their workflow.
Don't take my word for it, even the design software giant Adobe recently made headlines when attempting to buy Figma for an astonishing 30 billion dollars (Eventually blocked and canceled due to legal hurdles).
What makes it disruptive?
You can collaborate with your team on a single file all at once. A slick interface which can fully live within any web browser. A robust community of users which contribute pre-built design files and helpful plugins. Auto-layout tools which allow flexible components, variables, libraries, and special object states which operate together like a machine. The introduction of intuitive dev tools to simplify engineering hand off. Finally, a highly anticipated update is coming soon, which introduces AI tools and a refined "UI3" user interface.

Pros
- Live collaboration with your entire team on a single file.
- Robust community of user-contributed assets
- Intuitive design, prototyping, and dev hand-off functionality
Cons
- It has trouble loading high-res imagery after 15-20 instances.
- It has trouble loading complex vector objects (100+ shapes)
- Vector Pen tool is slightly less developed than Adobe Illustrator (Although you can paste from Illustrator to Figma easily)
- Setting up interactions in prototype-mode can quickly get messy and overwhelming when the workflow arrows overlap.
- Making viable and feasible design output for your products.
- The ability to welcome stakeholders into the process
- A relatively low cost tool which can create high value for a team.
In comparison to Figma, other tools which can accomplish similar tasks (Adobe XD, Sketch, and Adobe PhotoShop) feel outdated, clunky, and lacking in functionality.
When switching over to Figma, the experience feels much more elegant, convenient, and cutting-edge in a number of instances. Even Figma's core functionally within a web browser feels much more stable than these other desktop app solutions.
