Overall Satisfaction with FileZilla
I've used FileZilla for many years for accessing servers with FTP. I am so angry that they now bundle their free version with spyware/adware that acts as a "web safety" software. After installing I found that Web Companion by Lavasoft and the Web Safety Chrome extension was installed in my programs (this is a custom-built PC, so it didn't come with any bloatware). It took me a while to remove the new default search engines with affiliate codes that were added and narrow down the culprit to FileZilla.
Pros
- Trick you into installing unwanted programs
- There isn't even an option to deselect it
Cons
- Don't include adware anymore
- FileZilla serves as an example to find a better FTP application
- Wasted time uninstalling spyware/adware
