Overall Satisfaction with FileZilla

We use FileZilla as a secure FTP service so our clients don't have to email sensitive documents.
  • Easy to install and configure
  • No startup fees
  • Easy to manage users and shares in one location
  • Some client's have complained about installing the client side app
  • There is no express deployment option for clients where they can click on an inhouse made executable file to install
  • It would be nice if there was a web interface for clients instead of a local install only.
  • secure FTP transfer
  • No setup fee or monthly fees
  • Minimal hardware / software requirements to run the program.
  • Allowed us to reduce software costs
  • Once configured it is easy for end users to transfer files thus reducing security issues and emails from clients
  • Reduced overall costs by streamlining the document collection process
It really comes down to ease of use and cost. FileZilla blows away the competition in both categories

Once the server and client are installed and configured it is a great program. If a file is interrupted during the transfer the program has an option to pick up the transfer where it left off. This is huge because often we are dealing with massive files. It would be nice if there was a web interface option.
