Overall Satisfaction with Final Cut Pro X

We use Final Cut Pro X in our Marketing Department for video editing and production. Final Cut gives us more flexibility than other video editing software because it doesn't have much of a learning curve, meaning we don't need to have an extensive training session before getting new users set up with the software.
  • Final Cut Pro already has many of the extra features you would have to download for other video editing software already installed when you start. There's no need to go searching online for add-ons.
  • It's a really intuitive program to use, you just drag and drop the video where you want it or click and drag where you want to cut. This makes it easy to show new users how to get started.
  • You can layer many different audio channels, which gives you a lot of freedom to get your sound just right.
  • Final Cut has seemingly "crashed" in the middle of working on a few of our projects, and we weren't able to recover our progress. Starting from scratch after hours of work is not fun.
  • Although we haven't had a problem with it yet, it seems as though there are fewer exporting options than we expected. The major options are there, but it seems as though there should be more.
  • Exporting screenshots as jpegs is a disappointment with Final Cut Pro X. They don't export in HD. The workaround is to export as a png or tiff but it's annoying that you can't use jpeg.
  • Our video production quality has increased significantly with the use of Final Cut Pro X.
  • We've had a big increase in visits to our YouTube channel, and higher engagement on the new videos, since switching to Final Cut Pro X. The quality is often commented on.
  • Our department is focused on creating engaging content for our customers, and video is the best way to do that for us. With Final Cut we're able to produce high-quality videos, quickly, meaning we always have fresh, relevant content to keep people coming back.
Final Cut Pro X is just as good as Adobe Premier Pro but doesn't require a subscription to keep using. The one time cost was a plus for us. Although Final Cut Pro X is only available for Apple, everyone in our department uses Macs so it wasn't a problem. We've found it easier to use and gives the same result in quality.
If you want a straight forward video editing software with the ability to really fine-tune your audio and video, Final Cut Pro X is the option for you. If you're not the type to constantly save your work and keep back-ups of those saves, you might want to be wary of this.
