Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use FormAssembly to collect information by creating internally and externally facing web forms that integrate with Salesforce. We often used prefilled parameterized links to customize the form to the individual. The use cases include registration forms, application forms, "contact us" forms, among others. The integration with Salesforce allows us to read and write data to and from Salesforce.

Pros and Cons

Pros

WYSIWYG editor does not require coding, although custom code is supported.
Two-way integration with Salesforce is very strong.
The service is stable and reliable.
Dynamic picklist values based on Salesforce content.

Cons

Long forms and connectors can take a long time to load in the editor. Is there a way to improve this?
Dynamic picklists have to be recreated if a form is cloned. It would be better if they copied over to the new form.
It would be helpful to have hover tooltips to explain what each item in the left-side navigation menu does. Publishing, Connectors, Notifications, etc.

Return on Investment

FormAssembly allows us to quickly deploy surveys and solicit timely feedback.
For example, we use it to survey and gauge interest from our waitlisted students, which helps us with predictive modeling.
It allows us to be nimble and self-sufficient. We can deploy forms without needing a developer or IT.
The integration with Salesforce is especially impactful for us.

Usability

FormAssembly is not difficult to use, but there is a learning curve. It does not require developer skills, and business users can utilize it successfully. However, it does support custom code, so developers are not limited by it. It is cloud-based, so there is no software to install. You can access it from anywhere you have an internet connection.

FormAssembly is an excellent tool for creating personalized web forms that integrate securely with Salesforce. It is a very powerful tool, and although it is user-friendly, there is a learning curve. It would be less suited for very simple forms that do not integrate with other systems, as there are probably simpler tools available for that purpose.

5 - We have multiple business units using FormAssembly, most notably undergraduate enrollment recruitment and admissions, and university advancement/alumni relations. We have a few FormAssembly administrators from each group. However, the data FormAssembly brings into Salesforce is used by dozens, if not hundreds, of internal users. Furthermore, the forms are exposed to large external audiences.

5 - We have 2 or 3 individuals from each business unit supporting FormAssembly. They range from business users to technically savvy system administrators. Because we integrate it with Salesforce, they also tend to be Salesforce power users or system administrators. It is also helpful if they have experience with, or a sense of, user interface design.
